Supplier Selection Process

  1. Investigate via internet/references potential suppliers
  2. Meet with perspective suppliers asking questions about their business.
  3. Inform potential suppliers that Buying Club does not represent GL Homes or the Property Owners’ Association.

The following guidelines are used when conducting an interview with suppliers:

  • Minimum of 5 years Business experience
  • Exceptions can be made depending on the service and other market factors.
  • Supplier must have appropriate Florida licenses/insurances for the related service.
  • Select Suppliers that operate in counties in close proximity to the Valencia Lakes Community
  • Supplier has the necessary personnel to meet the communication/customer service needs of Valencia Lakes residents.
  • Supplier has required tools/equipment to operate in a safe and cost effective manner when performing the task.
  • Supplier warranties work, where applicable.
  • Supplier is associated with the Better Business Bureau, Angie’s List or can provide business references to validate financial and business conduct of organization.
  • Request quotation from perspective suppliers. A minimum of 3 quotes should be obtained whenever possible for specific category being investigated.
  • Buying Club Committee to review pricing and promotional discounts as well adherence criteria guidelines
  • Selection process is governed by majority rule within the Buying committee. In the event of a tie, the President of the Club will make the final decision.
  • Check references provided by supplier prior to finalizing selection
